POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremony at NHS

The tradition of commemorating National POW/MIA Recognition Day at Nonnewaug High School continued for the third year, headed up by members of the Boy Scouts Troop 54 at the monument near the NHS turf. NHS sophomore and Boy Scout Maddox Poythress gave a brief speech, followed by Woodbury resident and veteran Bud Neal and NHS Principal Dr. Mykal Kuslis.

Local veterans, members of the Boy Scout Troop 54, and NHS students from Scott Parkhouse's History class were on hand for the ceremony. The POW/MIA Honor Chair was installed three years ago by senior Andrew Grivner as his Eagle Scout project to serve as a forever reminder of American soldiers who never came home from war and remain unaccounted for.
