Woodbury Living Historian Ray Manzi set up a Civil War reenacting display today at Nonnewaug High School for students in history classes. Students visited Manzi, who was dressed as a Union Army officer, and viewed his display that featured numerous pieces of Civil War memorabilia.

Manzi spoke about the many items essential to Civil War soldiers, including a tent, uniforms, historical clothing, artifacts, weaponry, tin food items, hard tack, and many other items. Manzi gave students a brief overview of life for a soldier during the Civil War. The sophomore and junior history students are just finishing up lessons on the Civil War in their classes. Manzi is a Living Historian who is both a Civil War and World War II reenactor.
