Nonnewaug High School senior Enzo Pamplona and sophomore June Robinson received awards at the annual high school theater Halo Awards Ceremony at the Palace Theater. Robinson won Best Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Play and Pamplona won Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play for their performances in Nonnewaug’s fall play “Radium Girls.”
The Halo Awards is a competition for high school drama departments across Connecticut to recognize the hard work and dedication the students put in to make theater performances a reality. Nearly 90 Connecticut high schools participate in the Halo Awards, which celebrates and rewards students for their work in all aspects of theatre: acting, technical theatre, directing, and more.
“We are so thrilled for Enzo and June,” said NHS Drama Club Advisor Catherine Pelkey. “With about 90 schools in the program and over 30 schools just completing in our division, getting two Halos as well as the 12 nominations is wonderful and a testament to the talent of this group.”
