Nonnewaug High School will host a concert to benefit the food banks in Bethlehem and Woodbury on Wednesday, May 15. The NHS Jazz and Rock Ensembles will provide the opening music followed by the headlining group “The Love Cab,” a four-member student Indie rock band formed at NHS last school year.
The concert will be held on Wednesday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students. Tickets can be purchased in advance at https://gofan.co/event/1503188 or at the door.
“The Love Cab” recently released their first single, "Car Talk" from the upcoming EP to be released May 14. The group members are Spencer Maletzke, singer, guitarist (NHS) 11th grade, Matthew Canonico, guitarist, singer (NHS) 12th grade, Enzo Pamplona-Almiron, drummer (NHS) 12th grade, and Caleb McGaffrey-Schipul, bass, (Watertown High School) 11th grade.
The NHS students used the writing of the songs and music and the recording and releasing of their EP as their MBLE project, the Mastery-Based Learning graduation requirement. They will be presenting their MBLE to teachers on May 22nd.
