Media Arts at Nonnewaug High School

Students will explore the media arts through creating, performing, and responding. Students will experience media art as a visual and audio language involving a unique and specialized body of knowledge. They will develop perception, imagination, and the ability to communicate and think critically as they engage in the media arts program at every level. Students will learn through a series of organized media art experiences to look, discover, and understand. Their original and creative work will tap inner resources and give a personal sense of satisfaction and confidence. The students will have the opportunity to learn about video production, sound engineering, computer graphics design, and game design. The Media Arts Department allows students to engage the community through extracurricular clubs. The video club allows students to work after school on school and community projects and programs. The video club works with students to promote leadership growth opportunities, college and career preparation, and an unmatched sense of camaraderie while engaging with the community.
